EnCirca keeps a number of customer/contact records for your account and domain:
- Customer details for your EnCirca account. This includes your Username, Handle, Name, Organization, Email Address, Street Address and Phone Numbers. These details are specific to the person who owns the account. This information is private and is used for account updates.
- Registrant Contact details for your domains. This includes Name, Organization, Email Address, Street Address and Phone Numbers. These details are specific to the owner of the domain. This information is public and viewable in the Whois search for a domain.
NOTE: Remember, customer and contact information are separate. When updating your information, remember to update information in both locations.
To update Customer User Details to manage your domains
- Login to your account at EnCirca: https://manage30.encirca.com/
- In the left-hand menu select ‘My Account’.
- Under ‘Profile’, you can update your information.
- NOTE: Some fields are mandatory
- After making changes click the ‘Submit’ button.
- When you change your email address, you will be asked to confirm it.
There are 4 types of Whois Contacts for your domains. Registrant, Admin, Technical and Billing, These contacts can be the same or different. Updating the Admin, Tech and Billing contacts are straightforward. However, Registrant contacts have some special update parameters as explained below.
To update Domain ‘Registrant Contact’ Street Address and Phone Numbers
- Login to your account at EnCirca: https://manage30.encirca.com/
- In the top menu, under ‘Manage’, click on ‘‘My Domains’.
- In ‘My Domain’, click on the domain name you want to update.
- Select the ‘Whois’ tab.
- You will see 4 tabs representing 4 areas: Registrant, Administrative, Technical and Billing.
- In each tab, you will see a Domain ‘Handle’. This is a unique identifier given to the account for the person that serves as the contact for that area.
- The same Domain ‘Handle’ may be assigned to each area.
- You can update Street Address and Phone Numbers on each tab.
- NOTE: If the same ‘Handle’ is assigned to each area, editing the Street Address and Phone Numbers for one area will update all 4 areas.
- Click ‘Submit’ to save updates.
To update existing Domain ‘Registrant Contact’ Name, Organization or Email Address
- Login to your account at EnCirca: https://manage30.encirca.com/
- In ‘My Domain’, click on the domain name you want to update.
- Select the ‘Whois’ tab.
- You will see 4 tabs representing 4 areas: Registrant, Administrative, Technical and Billing
- In each tab, you will see a Domain ‘Handle’. This is a unique identifier given to the account for the person that serves as the contact for that area.
- The same Domain ‘Handle’ may be assigned to each area.
- Click the Green Button ‘View All Contacts
- You can either update the existing handle (which will update all contacts with that handle). Or you can add a new handle. See steps below to add a new contact to your account.
- Changing your contact handle, name, organization or email triggers a change process that requires email confirmation.
- Update existing handle: Click on the lock next to ‘Handle’.
- Update existing name: Click on the lock next to ‘*First name’ or ‘*Last name’.
- Update existing organization: Click on the lock next to ‘*Organization’.
- Update existing email. Click on the lock next to ‘*Email’.
- You will be asked to confirm the change(s) via email.
- Your old email and new email will be sent with a confirmation verification link.
- Once both emails have confirmed the change, your contact will be updated.
